Enjoy the Ride

A circular mandala design featuring intricate white patterns and leaf shapes set against a gradient blue-green background.

There was a period in my life when I was constantly focused on what came next. The next goal, the next achievement, the next version of myself. I spent so much time looking ahead that I often forgot to appreciate where I already was.

When I started this painting, I found myself reflecting on how similar this is to a journey. We become so attached to the destination that we overlook the beauty, lessons, and unexpected discoveries that happen along the way.

As the layers of paint began to build up, the painting developed slowly and organically. There wasn’t a fixed plan. Each layer revealed the next step, much like life itself. At times I wanted to know exactly where the work was going, but the painting kept reminding me to trust the process rather than control it.

The title Enjoy the Ride emerged naturally from that realization. It became a reminder that growth isn’t only about becoming someone new; it’s also about learning to appreciate who we already are and allowing ourselves the freedom to unfold at our own pace.

For me, this painting represents trust: trust in life, trust in the journey, and trust in ourselves. It is an invitation to let go of the need to have everything figured out and to find joy in the ongoing process of discovering our authentic selves.
