Freedom

Some of my earliest memories involve blowing on a dandelion and watching its seeds drift away into the wind. As a child, it felt almost magical. For a brief moment, anything seemed possible. The tiny seeds would scatter in every direction, carried by forces I couldn’t see, and I would wonder where they might land.
What surprised me is that, many years later, I still experience the same feeling.
When I began working on my Nature Series, I wanted to explore not only the beauty of plants and flowers, but also the emotions and memories they evoke. The dandelion immediately came to mind because it has always represented freedom to me. Not freedom as the absence of limits, but as the feeling of openness, possibility, and trust in the unknown.
While creating this painting, I reflected on how often we try to control the direction of our lives, holding tightly to plans and expectations. The dandelion does the opposite. It releases. It lets go. It trusts the journey.
The circular composition emerged naturally, transforming the dandelion into a mandala-like form where every seed is connected to a common center before beginning its own path. For me, this mirrors our own lives: we are rooted in our experiences and connections, yet each of us is free to follow a unique direction.
Today, Freedom reminds me of that childlike feeling of possibility that never truly disappears. It is an invitation to let go, trust the process, and allow life to unfold in ways we cannot always predict. Sometimes freedom begins with something as simple as taking a breath and releasing what we no longer need to hold on to.
